Birmingham City have secured the signing of dynamic full-back Kristoffer Lund, who described himself as a player full of energy and determination.
The Danish-American defender joined the Blues from Italian club Palermo last week and is expected to be available for selection against Swansea City this weekend.
At 24 years old, Lund arrives as a direct replacement for Kai Wagner, who returned to Major League Soccer’s Philadelphia Union. He is set to compete with Alex Cochrane for a spot in Birmingham City’s starting lineup.

“Blues can expect a player who will always give his utmost effort in every situation, whether I am performing well or facing challenges,” Lund told Blues+. “You can expect someone who can run tirelessly, is physically strong, and excels in one-on-one defensive situations. I am always ready to sacrifice for the good of my teammates.”
Head coach Chris Davies was clear in his desire to find an attacking-minded left-back following Wagner’s departure.
During his loan spell at FC Köln in the Bundesliga last season, Lund contributed two assists across 33 appearances and had a history of creating goal-scoring opportunities while with Swedish club Häcken.
Lund added: “The coach is very demanding and communicates clearly what he expects from me. We discussed my strengths, including my physicality and endurance, alongside his demands for offensive contributions and overall team improvement. I believe I have the ability to meet these expectations, though I remain humble and aware that I have plenty to learn.
“Playing a full season in the Bundesliga was a strong test, and I proved myself capable by maintaining a high standard. However, English football is a different level altogether, and I know it will be challenging, but I am ready for that challenge.”
