A vital section of Birmingham’s Coventry Road (A45) will be closed this weekend to facilitate important public transport improvements. From 11pm on Friday, January 9, until Sunday, January 11, the A45 will be closed at Lyndon Road to allow work on the Sprint bus route.
Motorists are advised to avoid Hob’s Moat Road and Damson Parkway where possible, as diversions will be in place throughout the closure period. Additional traffic restrictions are currently affecting the A45 Coventry Road in Yardley, with one lane closed between Lyndon Road and Gilbertstone Avenue, as well as outbound towards Birmingham Airport between Wagon Lane and the Wheatsheaf.
Sprint is a bus priority corridor designed to connect Walsall with Birmingham city centre, Solihull, and Birmingham Airport. By linking the A34 with the A45, it will provide a continuous, high-quality bus route across the region.
