João Gomes Expresses Gratitude to Aston Villa Supporters Following Warm Welcome

João Gomes has publicly thanked Aston Villa supporters and his fellow players for the warm reception he has received since joining the club. The Brazilian midfielder made the move to Unai Emery’s squad in July after Aston Villa agreed on a £35 million transfer deal with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Gomes has played in all six of Villa’s pre-season friendlies this summer and is anticipated to start in the upcoming UEFA Super Cup match against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday evening.

His signing came shortly after Aston Villa secured the club-record acquisition of Johan Manzambi, completing a £52 million deal from SC Freiburg. Additionally, Villa have brought in Alejandro Garnacho on loan from Chelsea, with a conditional obligation to purchase, and are also pursuing Matteo Ruggeri and João Palhinha to strengthen the team further.

In a message shared on social media, Gomes expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome, stating: “Rarely in my life have I been so well received, thank you very much to everyone, especially to the players. It really made me feel part of the group from the first day here in the Villa. I hope I can continue to help you write this winning story here.”
