ITV’s beloved morning show, Lorraine, will be off air for several weeks, confirmed Christine Lampard, who recently stood in for the regular host, Lorraine Kelly.
Lampard, taking over hosting duties on March 6, informed viewers towards the end of the broadcast: “That’s all for today here, Lorraine will be back in a few weeks’ time. Have a lovely weekend. See you soon.”
Lorraine Kelly, 66, has been noticeably unwell in recent days. Fans expressed concern after she sounded hoarse during broadcasts earlier in the week, a fact highlighted by Good Morning Britain’s Susanna Reid on March 3. Lorraine herself admitted, “It’s terrible. I know, it sounds awful… It’s really strange.”

Despite her struggle, Lorraine kept viewers updated on her health. She reassured audiences that although her voice sounded rough, the sore throat was not infectious, thanks to Dr. Amir’s assessment. She also shared the home remedies recommended by fans, joking about trying garlic over the weekend.
However, Lorraine’s condition worsened, culminating in a complete loss of voice. On March 6, Ben Shephard, who filled in the previous day, explained to viewers during a handover with Kate Garraway: “Unfortunately, if you’ve been watching this week, Lorraine’s voice has been getting very bad. It finally collapsed last night. She couldn’t say a thing, much to Steve’s delight—just a few squeaks here and there.”
With Lorraine unable to host, stand-in presenters like Shephard and Lampard have stepped up to keep the show running. Fans will have to wait patiently until Lorraine Kelly recovers and returns to the screen.
