Lisa Riley, beloved for her role as Mandy Dingle on ITV’s Emmerdale and a recent contestant on I’m A Celebrity, has captivated fans by sharing remarkable before and after photos showcasing her incredible 12 stone weight loss.
At 49, Lisa has transformed her body and lifestyle, dropping from a size 28 to a size 12-14 through commitment and healthy changes rather than quick-fix diets. Her journey includes cutting out alcohol, adopting balanced, nutrient-rich meals, and maintaining an active routine with yoga and gym workouts.
During her time on I’m A Celebrity, Lisa shed an additional 20 pounds in just 21 days by following the camp’s simple diet of rice and beans. Reflecting on her journey, she shared a side-by-side photo comparison of her Emmerdale days with a recent image, highlighting her slimmer figure and bright smile.

Lisa expressed her pride on social media: “Some days like today you are allowed to pat yourself on the back. I was looking back at old photos and now I can REALLY see what others are seeing — just how much I’m loving my fitness at the gym. THANK YOU @villagegym #leeds I’m proud to be a AMBASSADOR!!! It’s good to be active… especially now I’m approaching that 50th birthday in July.”
Her post quickly attracted an outpouring of support and admiration from friends and fans alike. Comments included: “You look amazing!”, “You’re looking incredible Lisa!”, and “Looking fabulous, every weight journey is hard.”
In a 2017 interview on This Morning, Lisa revealed the mindset that fueled her success: “I decided to lose weight for me. Everything I had tried previously didn’t work. I did Slimming World, all those sorts of things didn’t work for me, probably because I wasn’t being honest and dedicated to myself. I just did it for me and I was patient and I had to realise all the mistakes I had made year after year.”
Today, Lisa keeps a food diary and enjoys activities like Zumba. She admits her old habits included crisps and alcohol as a comfort, with typical meals like toasties, fries, fizzy drinks, chocolate bars, and white bread. Now, she opts for smaller portions filled with wholesome, fresh foods such as porridge with honey for breakfast, butternut squash soup with oatcakes at lunch, and cod with roasted vegetables for dinner. Snacks now include nuts, fruit, and coffee.
Lisa’s inspiring story is a testament to the power of dedication, patience, and a balanced lifestyle in achieving lasting health and confidence.
