Iceland is offering free same-day delivery for all orders over £40 from Monday 13 April through Thursday 16 April. Normally, home delivery slots cost £3.20, but this limited-time promotion aims to help shoppers save on essentials during a challenging cost-of-living period.
Richard Walker, Executive Chair of Iceland, emphasized the company’s commitment to supporting customers facing financial strain. “We know that customers are continuing to feel the pinch, especially after the school holidays and ongoing uncertainty from the Middle East,” he said. “We’re proud to introduce this promotion for all our customers, helping families stock up on the essentials.”
This promotion follows the Easter holiday and coincides with broader efforts to ease living costs impacted by rising energy prices and fuel costs. Lord Walker, who serves as the Labour Party government’s cost-of-living tsar, recently discussed potential government measures to mitigate the effects of international conflicts on fuel prices.

Currently, the UK government offers a 5p fuel duty cut that is set to expire in September. Lord Walker noted the possibility of extending or increasing the cut, referencing Australia’s recent 14p per litre fuel tax reduction as an example.
In addition to this promotion, Iceland continues to provide free next-day delivery on orders over £25, fulfilled from the nearest Iceland or Food Warehouse store. Known for its frozen food expertise, Iceland competes with supermarkets including Sainsbury’s, Lidl, Aldi, Asda, Morrisons, and Tesco.
