Naya Khan, a 19-year-old from Birmingham, has bravely shared her incredible weight loss journey after shedding nine stone following years of bullying due to her size. Yet despite her transparency, she faces harsh criticism from online skeptics who accuse her of relying on weight loss injections.
At her heaviest, Naya weighed 23st 6lbs; today she proudly maintains a weight of 13st 8lbs. “When I first got accused of using jabs, I was shocked,” she admits. “I was mostly surprised that I looked slim enough to even get those accusations.” Despite receiving many messages doubting her story, Naya firmly denies ever using weight loss peptides or medications and has even turned down paid promotions from such companies.
Naya’s transformation took three years, grounded in dedication to a balanced diet and a rigorous exercise regimen. “I spent much of my time weightlifting and doing cardio, but my main focus was my diet,” she explains. She cut down on sweets, controlled portion sizes, and prioritized whole foods to nourish her body. “Being a foodie, this was the hardest part, but staying consistent was key,” she adds.

Before her transformation, Naya often ate large portions, frequently dining out and snacking on crisps and chocolates. Now, she practices intuitive eating—enjoying treats occasionally without guilt, while ensuring she gets the right balance of protein, carbs, and micronutrients. She believes this approach helps avoid unhealthy relationships with food.
Overcoming gym anxiety was another hurdle. “At first, it was really scary being the biggest person in the gym, but I reminded myself everyone is there focusing on their own journey,” she shares. Her perseverance has now made fitness a central part of her life.
As a small business owner of Schon Aesthetic and Laser, Naya aims to inspire others, especially beginners, to take control of their health. She is focused on building muscle and gaining strength after her weight loss left her with loose skin and low muscle mass. “My goal is to be the strongest version of myself and help others navigate the weight loss process healthily,” she says.
Naya’s advice to anyone beginning a weight loss journey is simple: patience, consistency, and doing it the right way matter most. She cautions against shortcuts like fat-loss jabs, emphasizing that “calorie deficit, weightlifting, and cardio will be your best friends.” She encourages beginners to seek guidance from those who have successfully walked the path before them.
