Miroslaw Dobersztajn, a 48-year-old man from Bloxwich, appeared in Wolverhampton Crown Court after admitting to possessing indecent images of children. The case unfolded when police executed a warrant at his home following intelligence linking an IP address to the illegal content.
During the police visit, Dobersztajn initially denied involvement, as did his wife. However, once his wife left the room to retrieve a computer, Dobersztajn confessed to accessing the illicit material. Officers found 14 indecent images of children aged six to 15 on a Dell Mini computer. Investigators also discovered evidence of systematic searches for images of children aged between 11 and 16, as well as the use of a peer-to-peer file sharing program.
Dobersztajn told police he had been drinking at the time and was in “shock” the next day, prompting him to begin deleting the images. He denied deriving sexual gratification from the content. His defense lawyer maintained it was a one-time incident and emphasized Dobersztajn’s cooperation and acceptance of responsibility.

During sentencing, Recorder Michael Duck KC highlighted the deliberate nature of Dobersztajn’s actions, noting that his behavior contributes to the ongoing exploitation of children. While acknowledging the offense as isolated and brief, the Recorder stressed the seriousness of the crime.
Dobersztajn, who had no prior convictions, admitted three counts of making indecent images of children. He received an eight-month prison sentence suspended for two years, accompanied by a 55-day rehabilitation activity requirement, 100 hours of unpaid work, and £150 in costs. Additionally, Dobersztajn is subject to a 10-year sexual harm prevention order and must remain on the sex offenders register for 10 years.
Recorder Duck concluded by urging Dobersztajn to take full advantage of the support provided by probation services to prevent any future offenses.
