One individual remains in critical condition in hospital following a mass stabbing aboard a train last night. British Transport Police have confirmed that this person is a member of the LNER rail staff, who courageously confronted the attacker, an act caught on CCTV and described as “undoubtedly saving lives.”
The incident occurred on a train diverted and brought to a halt in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, where emergency services responded swiftly. Eleven victims required hospital treatment, nine of whom were initially in life-threatening condition. Currently, the heroic staff member is the sole victim still fighting for their life.
Authorities have confirmed that while two men were initially arrested in connection with the attack, only a 32-year-old man from Peterborough remains in custody as the primary suspect. The other man, aged 35 from London, has been released without further action.
