Shugborough Mansion in Staffordshire is opening its doors for Halloween ghost tours, attracting those intrigued by tales of the supernatural. This Georgian mansion, complete with servant’s quarters, offers guests the chance to explore some of its most haunted areas guided by stories from people who have encountered unexplainable experiences.
The tours, held on October 29, 30 and 31, 2026, last approximately one hour. At the conclusion, adult visitors receive a cream tea included in the £15 ticket price, while children aged 10 and above can enjoy a drink and a Halloween-themed biscuit with their £10 ticket.
A National Trust representative commented, “Are you brave enough to explore Shugborough Mansion in the dark? Join us on a one hour guided tour through some of the Mansion’s most haunted corners. You will hear ghostly tales from those who have seen, heard or felt something they couldn’t explain. While the tour is for entertainment, we cannot guarantee the spirits won’t take a liking to you. Costumes are optional, but courage is required.”

The Mansion’s tearoom will be open exclusively for ghost tour ticket holders from 4pm to 5pm each evening. While the tour and refreshments take place indoors, participants are advised to wear clothing suitable for the weather, as they will need to move outside between areas.
Shugborough Mansion is located in Milford, near Stafford, Staffordshire, ST17 0UP. It is about a 50-minute drive from Birmingham via the M6, depending on traffic. Alternatively, visitors can take a 30-minute train ride from Birmingham New Street to Stafford, with the estate situated roughly five miles from the station.
