Since opening its doors in 2025 on the site formerly occupied by Umami, Harborne Indian Kitchen has steadily garnered praise for its exceptional cuisine and service. Despite the challenges posed by a hot summer, the restaurant has remained a sought-after destination, with customers flocking to enjoy its menu even in sweltering conditions.
One enthusiastic reviewer, posting under the username ‘SLJW13’, shared their experience of celebrating a new job at the restaurant during a heatwave. They wrote: “We were the crazy people going for a curry in the middle of a heatwave! The service was attentive, they surrounded us with fans and brought extra ice for our drinks. The food was insanely good. The smoked butter chicken was an absolute highlight, closely followed by the south Indian garlic chicken. Wow. Phenomenal.”

Manager Abdul Hoque acknowledged the difficulties faced by the hospitality sector this summer, describing it as an “incredibly challenging” time. He expressed his pride in the team’s efforts to maintain high standards throughout and welcomed the award as a significant achievement. “This recognition means a great deal to the whole team and is a real testament to the hard work and dedication that goes into what we do,” he said.
Abdul also expressed hope that the award would attract new visitors, helping to rejuvenate footfall not only at Harborne Indian Kitchen but across the wider hospitality industry.
