Grandmother Sentenced for Stabbing Son-in-Law Following Daughter’s Breakup

Linda Clifford, 61, has been sentenced to prison after stabbing her son-in-law, Richard Evans, in the neck outside his home in Great Barr, Birmingham. The violent incident occurred shortly after her daughter’s breakup, which heightened tensions between Clifford and Evans.

According to reports, Clifford pulled a three-to-four inch bladed knife from her coat pocket and lunged at Evans while he was standing on the doorstep. The attack caused serious injuries, leading to her subsequent arrest and trial.

During the court proceedings, the circumstances surrounding the emotional stress related to the breakup were considered, but the judge emphasized that such an attack could not be justified. Clifford was found guilty and received a custodial sentence.
