A grandfather in Bordesley Green has made an urgent appeal for witnesses and CCTV footage after his home and five cars in his driveway were vandalized in a violent early morning incident.
Javed Iqbal and his family were asleep at their Botha Road residence in the early hours of Sunday, May 24, when they were abruptly awakened by loud banging noises. The sudden disturbance terrified his wife, daughter, and two young grandchildren, aged nine and four, who were enjoying a weekend sleepover.
Rushing downstairs, Mr. Iqbal was confronted with the distressing sight of a group of vandals smashing the windows of his house. By the time he reached the front door, the perpetrators had fled into the night.

All five cars parked in the driveway had their windows smashed, scattering shards of glass across the ground. The incident has left the family shaken, with Mr. Iqbal expressing concern for his grandchildren’s lasting trauma from the experience.
Mr. Iqbal is at a loss to understand why his family was targeted and is calling on the public to assist with any information or footage that could aid the ongoing investigation.
“No one should have to endure something like this in their own home,” he said. “We urgently ask anyone who might have CCTV or any information to come forward.”
West Midlands Police are currently investigating the case, urging anyone with information to contact them via their website Live Chat or by calling 101, referencing incident number 20/259985/26.
