Storm Goretti has brought heavy snowfall across the Midlands this evening, leading to significant travel disruptions. The challenging conditions have caused vehicles to become stranded on roads, trains to operate on limited schedules, and bus services to be heavily affected.
National Express West Midlands has announced that multiple bus routes are now operating only along main roads to ensure passenger safety and maintain service continuity. The company expressed gratitude to commuters for their patience, urging everyone to travel safely during the severe weather.
Below is the current list of bus services affected by the snow, with regular updates available.

In addition to bus disruptions, West Midlands Railway reduced train services from 3 pm and strongly advised passengers to travel only if absolutely necessary, recommending all journeys be completed by 7 pm.
National Rail has highlighted the challenges extremely cold weather presents to railway operations. The steel wheels and rails require adequate friction to allow trains to accelerate and brake safely. Without this, there is a risk of slipping, missed stops, or even collisions due to inability to brake effectively.
