Preston Mahon, a former security guard who worked with high-profile acts like One Direction, Leona Lewis, Westlife, and Boyzone, is now facing a critical health crisis. After years of dedication to his demanding job, Preston is at risk of losing his leg unless he can raise £30,000 for private surgery.
Originally undergoing what was believed to be a necessary knee operation, Preston later discovered the real issue was a blocked artery in his leg—a diagnosis initially missed. According to his friend Tracy Trigg, it was only after a student nurse’s evaluation that the true cause was revealed. Though undergoing an angioplasty, the artery has since re-blocked. Unfortunately, the NHS has conveyed that they will not provide further intervention unless the condition becomes life-threatening, with the possibility of amputation looming if treatment is delayed.
Preston has exhausted his savings and received all available family support, prompting a fundraising campaign via GoFundMe that has already raised over £12,500 since its launch on November 19. The campaign highlights Preston’s 27 years of service protecting well-known musical artists, often placing his own well-being second to his work and family.

Tracy’s heartfelt message on the fundraising page underscores Preston’s desire to regain mobility and live without pain. The necessary surgery, costing nearly €35,000 (approximately £30,000), aims to save both his legs and restore his quality of life.
An update from November 27 thanks supporters for their generosity while emphasizing that two-thirds of the required amount still needs to be raised. The campaign encourages donations, sharing, and words of encouragement to help Preston obtain life-saving treatment and rebuild hope for the future.
