On the following Tuesday, Damian Vidagany, Villa’s Director of Football Operations, addressed the situation ahead of their crucial clash with Chelsea. He explained that the club spoke at length with Konsa about maintaining composure during emotional moments. Vidagany emphasized that negative reactions toward the player from fans are unacceptable and urged everyone to understand the pressures players face after upsetting results.
“There are strong emotions on both sides,” Vidagany said. “We want calm minds to help the team pull together rather than drift apart.”
Meanwhile, manager Unai Emery confirmed his discussion with Konsa focused on leadership and defensive responsibility moving forward.
