Exact Hour UK Snow Bomb Set to Hit England with 10cm of Snow This Week

The UK is bracing for a significant snow event this week, with forecasts indicating up to 10cm of snow is expected to blanket parts of England. According to WX Charts, which uses Met Desk and GFS data, the snow bomb is predicted to begin striking the southwest of England precisely at midnight on February 15.

The areas most at risk include the south coast, Home Counties, Greater London, and the Midlands. Snowfall is also forecasted in South Wales, which may see accumulating snow during this period.

BBC Weather’s forecast for the week of February 16 to 22 highlights initially cold conditions with wintry showers before gradually turning milder. The forecast explains that high pressure to the north is likely to weaken, replaced by low pressure near Iceland towards the weekend. This shift will bring south-westerly winds and milder air to much of the UK, although Scotland may remain cooler with temperatures near seasonal averages.

The transition to milder weather will also bring wetter and windier conditions, with above-average rainfall expected, especially in the southwest, where flooding risks could increase. Snow could still occur on the colder leading edges of rain bands, particularly over higher ground in the north, while wintry showers may affect hillier regions during brighter, chillier breaks in the weather.

BBC Weather notes that clearer forecasts on whether the UK will experience a prolonged colder snap or an earlier warm-up are expected by Tuesday, which will provide better guidance for the coming days.
