Snowfall could linger in Scotland until Saturday, November 22, creating a long-lasting wintry scene. In the short term, the Met Office forecast for Friday, November 7, described the weather as follows: “A murky start for some, but clearing to brighter conditions through the morning. Some dry intervals, cloud cover with occasional showers—locally heavy. Rain band moving northeast across southwestern parts of the UK. Tonight, rain spreading into northern England and Scotland with coastal showers continuing in the southwest. Breezy and feeling cooler than recent nights.”

For Saturday, November 8, the Met Office predicts: “Another murky start with fog gradually lifting, leading to a brighter day for many. Light showers persist in western areas but most regions will enjoy some sunshine.”

Looking ahead to Sunday through Tuesday, the outlook remains changeable: “Rain will move slowly eastwards on Sunday with heavy showers expected Monday and Tuesday, especially in western areas. Occasional sunny spells will break through, but temperatures will be less mild.”

Residents and travelers should prepare for this extended period of cold and snow, which could disrupt transport and daily routines across parts of the UK.
