Ex-West Bromwich Albion striker Andy Carroll to appear in court over non-molestation order breach

Andy Carroll, the former West Bromwich Albion and England striker, is due to appear in court after being charged with breaching a non-molestation order. The 36-year-old was arrested on April 27 in connection with an alleged incident that took place in March.

Carroll, who earned nine England caps and made headlines with a £35 million move from Newcastle United to Liverpool in 2011, joined West Bromwich Albion for the 2021-22 season before departing at the end of that campaign. His football career also includes stints at West Ham United, Reading, and French clubs Amiens and Bordeaux. Most recently, he signed with National League South side Dagenham in July.

An Essex Police spokesperson confirmed the charge, stating: “Andrew Carroll, 36, of Epping, was arrested on April 27. The alleged offences relate to an incident in March this year. He is due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on December 30.”
