A brand-new ‘mega Greggs’ has officially opened its doors in Birmingham city centre, attracting a steady stream of customers from day one. Located at Unit 11 in New Street Station, this spacious new outlet replaces the former Unit 12 store and now occupies the former Boots shop site, offering a much larger space to accommodate the bustling footfall in the station.
The launch took place on Saturday, April 25, bringing three new jobs to the team and enhancing the customer experience in the busy transport hub. Gillian Long, Greggs’ retail operations director, shared her enthusiasm for the new location: “We’re excited to be welcoming customers to our new and improved shop in Birmingham New Street Station, with three new members joining the existing team. We look forward to providing customers with a modern, convenient new place to experience their Greggs favourites.”
Operating hours for the new ‘mega Greggs’ cater to early commuters and late-night visitors alike, opening from 4am to 2am Monday through Friday, 4am to 11:30pm on Saturdays, and 8am to 2am on Sundays.

The store’s impressive frontage features a large Greggs sign, and inside, customers can choose from the full range of Greggs classics, including the beloved sausage roll, steak bake, and sweet treats like Yum Yums. The popular meal deal, offering a main, side, and drink for just £5, remains a hit for those on the go.
This new development comes amid growing excitement around food offerings at New Street Station, which has recently welcomed major American chains such as Popeyes and Taco Bell. The opening of Taco Bell will soon mark the first city centre location for the Mexican-inspired fast-food giant.
