Eight-Day-Old Baby Hospitalized After Drunk Driver Flips Car on M50 in Gloucestershire

An eight-day-old baby has been rushed to Birmingham Children’s Hospital following a serious car crash caused by a suspected drunk driver. The incident occurred early this morning, May 25, at approximately 6:15 a.m. on the M50 in Gloucestershire.

According to reports, a Peugeot 308 collided with the nearside barrier between junctions 1 and 2 before flipping onto its roof. The 37-year-old female driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. She was subsequently taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment.

The newborn baby, a passenger in the vehicle, was urgently transported to Birmingham Children’s Hospital for specialist care. The crash triggered significant traffic delays on the M50 eastbound, with one lane remaining closed to facilitate barrier repairs and an ongoing police investigation.
