EDF Energy has announced it will continue its popular ‘Sunday Saver’ challenge throughout January, giving customers the opportunity to earn free electricity for Sundays by adjusting their weekday energy use. This initiative is unique to EDF, making it the only supplier offering up to four Sundays’ worth of free electricity over the next month.
With competitors like Octopus Energy, EON Next, Ovo, British Gas, and Scottish Power in the market, EDF distinguishes itself with the Sunday Saver program, which encourages customers to cut back electricity use during peak hours of 4pm to 7pm on weekdays. By shifting energy consumption outside these peak periods, customers can accumulate free electricity rewards redeemable the following Sundays.
Participants can earn between four and sixteen hours of free electricity, providing a meaningful way to reduce bills and enjoy more on Sunday. Rich Hughes, Director of Retail at EDF, commented: “January is a time when many people look for new ways to save after the festive period, so we’re delighted to resume our Sunday Saver challenge.” He emphasized that over 210,000 customers have already benefited from the program, which not only lowers costs but also helps reduce carbon footprints and supports a more sustainable energy grid.
