The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has announced a landmark update to the UK’s pensions dashboard, set to transform retirement planning by 2027. Torsten Bell, Minister for Pensions and Labour Party cabinet member, hailed this initiative as the most significant change in decades, offering savers unprecedented access to their pension wealth.
Scheduled to go live within the 2027/28 financial year via the Gov.uk MoneyHelper portal, this “major pensions moment” will allow individuals to view all their pension assets—private and state—in a single, consolidated platform for the first time. Bell highlighted that users will gain visibility over a share of the UK’s massive £3 trillion pension wealth, along with previously ‘lost’ or forgotten pension pots.
“All of their lost pots are going to suddenly emerge,” Bell said, “making this the most exciting website launch in 2027.”

Oliver Morley, CEO of the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS), assured that the dashboard won’t just present data—it will be supported by comprehensive guidance and tools to help users understand and manage their pension choices confidently.
“Our approach goes beyond providing a dashboard. We’re extensively researching user responses to ensure clarity about available options,” Morley explained.
The DWP revealed that 85% of pension records—around 70 million private pension entries—are now connected to the dashboard system. Since April 2025, approximately 1,500 pension providers and schemes have integrated with the MoneyHelper dashboard. Users will access their pension details securely through their Gov.uk One Login, the same account used for tax, student loans, National Insurance, and benefits.
This innovation aims to help millions of Britons track down lost pension pots estimated at an average value of £9,500 each. National Pension Tracing Day estimates that around 3.3 million unclaimed pensions are currently scattered across the country, and this dashboard could change that landscape forever.
