‘Dreams come true’ for Birmingham singer ROZZZQWEEN after TikTok success

Birmingham singer Roselyn Mugabe, known professionally as ROZZZQWEEN, is fast becoming a rising star after being named one of BBC Introducing’s Ones to Watch for 2026. This recognition shines a spotlight on her emerging talent and growing prominence in the music scene.

Her latest single, titled ‘MLK,’ is set for release on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, January 19. The song offers an empowering narrative inspired by the values of Martin Luther King Jr.’s iconic “I Have a Dream” speech. Unlike traditional political anthems, ‘MLK’ centers on themes of resilience, self-belief, and hope — a personal journey of strength and determination.

ROZZZQWEEN’s soulful voice, influenced by legends like Ray Charles and Billie Holiday, first previewed ‘MLK’ on TikTok months ago, where it gained impressive traction. With over 1.5 million likes on the platform, her consistent efforts to connect with audiences have clearly paid off.

Speaking to BirminghamLive, the artist expressed her excitement about officially releasing the track: “I wrote it a long time ago, and artists often hold onto music, but it’s not doing anything sitting in your files. A fan suggested keeping the acoustic version, which preserves the song’s raw power, so I thought that was a brilliant idea.”

She added, “Releasing ‘MLK’ as my first single of the year symbolizes that my dreams are coming to life. I have big ambitions, and for the first time, I can confidently say I’m on my way.”

ROZZZQWEEN credits her TikTok success to persistence: “It’s all about consistency. Eventually, the algorithm picks it up. For me, posting daily has been key. TikTok might not work for everyone, but if you consistently share your music, results will follow.”

‘MLK’ will be available on all major streaming platforms starting January 19.
