Dog Walker Sexually Assaulted in Abbey Gardens Park; Police Seek Suspect

Police are actively searching for a man who sexually assaulted a female dog walker in Abbey Gardens, Shrewsbury, on the evening of Saturday, January 10.

At approximately 9:30 pm, the woman was walking her dog when she was pushed to the ground and sexually assaulted by an unknown individual. The suspect fled the scene towards the park entrance near English Bridge and Abbey Foregate.

Authorities describe the attacker as a man taller than 5 feet 6 inches with a larger build. He was wearing dark clothing, potentially including a padded jacket, and spoke with an accent associated with Wolverhampton or Telford.

No arrests have been made, but police continue to investigate. Detective Constable Adam Butler emphasized the seriousness of the incident and assured the public that a thorough investigation is underway. He also confirmed that the victim is receiving support from specially trained officers.
