Discovering Birmingham Airport’s Hidden Gem: A Quiet Bar Away from the Crowds

Traveling through an airport can often feel overwhelming, with long security lines, overpriced snacks, and crowded waiting areas. Many travelers seek a relaxing drink before their flight to unwind from the stress of the journey ahead.

At Birmingham Airport, the well-known Wetherspoons in the departures area is usually bustling with travelers and groups, often making it difficult to find a quiet spot to relax. On multiple visits, I’ve noticed it consistently packed, especially with lively stag parties enjoying their beers.

However, I recently discovered a hidden gem tucked away at the opposite end of the airport that offers a much calmer atmosphere: All Bar One. Located near gates 1 to 16, this bar is easy to miss if you don’t venture beyond the main departure hall.

Visiting in October, I found All Bar One to be a refreshing alternative. The space was tranquil, with plenty of comfortable seating and a pleasant ambiance enhanced by background music. Ordering was convenient via a QR code at the table, allowing for a hassle-free experience.

I enjoyed half a pint of beer paired with a chicken and bacon focaccia sandwich, served with chips. At £13.50, the meal was reasonably priced for an airport, filling enough to keep me satisfied until I landed in Spain later that evening. The drink, priced at £4 for a half pint, was slightly on the expensive side but still worth it for the peaceful setting.

Though my departure gate was on the other side of the terminal, Birmingham Airport’s compact layout made it easy to spend some time at the bar before heading to the gate.

For travelers seeking a quieter place to relax away from the typical airport crowds and noise, All Bar One is undoubtedly worth a visit on your next trip through Birmingham Airport.
