Birmingham City’s Demarai Gray is gearing up for a comeback as he targets a return in the club’s upcoming FA Cup fourth-round tie against Leeds United on February 15. The winger has been sidelined for five weeks due to a calf injury sustained early in the Boxing Day 1-1 draw with Derby County.
Since then, the 29-year-old has undergone a smooth rehabilitation process without setbacks and is hopeful about regaining match fitness soon. Gray is expected to miss the upcoming fixtures against his former club Leicester City and West Bromwich Albion but is optimistic about rejoining the squad for the high-profile League vs. Premier League cup showdown.
Speaking on Blue Rising, Gray shared, “It’s been quite a smooth rehab process. I’ve not really had any setbacks. I’m only a few weeks away. I’m trying to get back for the cup game. It’s difficult not being able to play but hopefully I’ll come back and pick up good momentum again.”
