Day 3 at Crufts 2026 saw exciting developments as the Utility Group winner was announced at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre. This category, known for its diverse range of breeds that don’t fit into other groups, showcased a fascinating lineup from around the globe.
The Utility Group includes well-loved breeds such as Poodles, Dalmatians, and Bulldogs, representing a wide variety of sizes and coat types. Historically, dogs from this group have claimed the prestigious Best in Show title 13 times, though the last win was back in 2014.
This year, the coveted Utility Group winner is the Miniature Schnauzer, Wellingley Won for The Road — affectionately known as Spencer and proudly handled by Mr T B Braithwaite. The Reserve place went to the Dalmatian, Cubalibre Wishing Star (Mrs B Quayle), followed by the Eurasier, Sargas Des Legendes De Retz (Mrs Martineau) in third. The Toy Poodle, Dream High Kai Kennel Afterglow Adrenaline (Mr T & Mr J Isherwood & Lynn), secured fourth place.

Reflecting on last year’s results, the Miniature Schnauzer Aidante Georgia On My Mind (Liza) took the top spot in 2025, with notable runners-up including the Lhasa Apso and Tibetan Spaniel.
As the competition intensifies, dog lovers eagerly await tomorrow’s final Best in Show announcement to see if Spencer can emulate previous Utility Group champions.
