A 49-year-old mother from Coseley was fined and banned from driving after running a red light and being found over the legal alcohol limit in the early hours of August 13.
Stella Deakin was stopped by police officers on Coopers Bank Road, Lower Gornal, after they noticed her Citroen Berlingo driving at speed and running a red traffic light. When officers approached, Deakin admitted to having consumed alcohol and was later arrested.
During the stop, Deakin was reported to have verbally abused officers, telling one to “shut your f*****g mouth”. She continued to use abusive language at Oldbury Custody Suite following her arrest.

A breath test revealed Deakin had 68 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath, nearly double the legal limit of 35 micrograms.
At Dudley Magistrates' Court on October 1, Deakin pleaded guilty to driving while over the legal alcohol limit. Her defence explained that she had attended a barbecue that evening, where she consumed some alcohol, believing she was fit to drive. She expressed remorse for her behaviour.
Deakin was fined £120, ordered to pay £48 in victim surcharge and £85 in court costs. She also received a 40-month driving ban, with an option to reduce it by 40 weeks by completing a rehabilitation course within a specified time frame.
She has five children and lives on Spencer Avenue in Coseley.
