Confirmed: Birmingham City Secure Fifth January Signing with Carlos Vicente

Birmingham City have officially announced the signing of Spanish winger Carlos Vicente from Deportivo Alaves, marking their fifth acquisition of the January transfer window.

Vicente joins the Blues following the earlier signings of Kai Wagner, Jhon Solis, Ibrahim Osman, and August Priske. The 26-year-old has committed to a three-and-a-half-year contract at St Andrew’s, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2029.

During his recent tenure with Alaves, Vicente showcased his talent by netting 10 goals across all competitions, including five in La Liga. His contributions were instrumental in securing a 15th-place finish for Alaves in Spain’s top tier last season.

Known for his direct and pacey style on the right wing, Vicente is expected to add valuable competition for Patrick Roberts following the departures of Keshi Anderson and Lewis Koumas. The transfer fee is reported to be around £7 million plus potential add-ons, making it one of Birmingham City’s most significant signings in recent history.

Vicente could be in line to make his debut for Birmingham City in their upcoming Championship clash against Oxford United at the Kassam Stadium this weekend.
