An 11-year-old girl was found dead in a park near Elmley Castle Cricket Club in Worcestershire after being reported missing late on Sunday evening, October 4. Authorities have described the girl’s death as unexplained as investigations continue.
The girl’s body was discovered in the park close to Pershore. West Mercia Police have been working at the scene and emphasised their focus on providing answers to the grieving family. Chief Inspector Daniel Pilkington expressed sympathy for those affected, saying, “We know the death of a young girl will be deeply upsetting for the local community, and our thoughts remain with her family and friends at this time.”
Online, many have expressed their condolences to the family. Caroline Clements wrote, “Thoughts are with her family and friends at this very sad time. May she rest in peace.” Suzanne Tranter added, “So sad. The poor girl. Sending my deepest condolences to her family and friends.” Lynsey Claire Crystal Perry said, “That’s awful thinking of her family at this sad time.”

Police have asked the public to refrain from speculation while the investigation continues and warned that an increased police presence will remain in the area. A single bouquet of sunflowers was left on a wooden bench near the police cordon in a quiet tribute.
Chief Inspector Pilkington also reassured residents, “This is part of our work to establish exactly what has happened, and officers will also be available to speak to anyone in the community who has concerns.” No further details have been released while enquiries proceed.
