Co-op Expands Member Perks Online, Helping Shoppers Save Over £80 Annually

Co-op is rolling out a significant update to its membership benefits, enabling shoppers to save more than £80 a year through personalised offers, now accessible online as well as in-store.

Previously exclusive to physical stores, Co-op’s popular personalised member perks can now be enjoyed by online customers. This digital expansion means that any funds added to membership cards, including rewards from gamification or bonus promotions, can also be redeemed during online shopping.

Rachel Halter, Customer Director at Co-op, explains, “Our data reveals that 88% of our online shoppers are already Co-op members. Bringing our weekly personalised offers online reflects our commitment to delivering consistent value to the people who own our business.”

Co-op aims to grow its membership to eight million by 2030, and expanding these personalised perks is a key part of showcasing the many benefits of membership — from exclusive savings to first access to presale tickets at Co-op Live.

This announcement comes in the wake of a £12-week investment programme that revitalised Co-op’s community store on Barmore Road, Tarbert, located at the head of Loch Fyne. Supporting 15 local jobs and operating daily from 7am to 10pm, the store has been updated with a fresh design, improved product range, and necessary structural renovations.

David MacDougall, Co-op Area Manager, said, “We’re proud to invest in Tarbert and to be an integral part of this community. The store’s transformation offers quality, value, and choice for everyone. Our team is thrilled to welcome the community back to their Co-op.”
