Kaleb Cooper, the popular farm contractor from Clarkson’s Farm, has turned to social media to share a challenging health update with his fans. The 27-year-old, known for his role alongside Jeremy Clarkson on their countryside venture at Diddly Squat Farm, revealed he has been diagnosed with shingles.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Kaleb expressed, “I’ve never been in so much pain in my life. I don’t know how I’m saying this but I’m 27 years old and I’ve got shingles. It is so painful.” He admitted his surprise at contracting the illness, having believed it was more common among older people. “Honestly, it’s like pins and needles continually in your body,” he said.
Shingles, caused by the chickenpox virus, typically causes a painful rash and a tingling or burning sensation on one side of the body or face. The NHS explains that the rash can take up to four weeks to heal, and residual pain may persist for weeks or longer.

Kaleb sought advice from his followers, asking, “How do I get rid of it? Can I take a tablet to get rid of it really quickly or something?” While shingles cannot be spread directly, the virus can cause chickenpox in individuals who have not been exposed before or who haven’t been vaccinated.
This is not the first time Kaleb has been transparent about his health struggles; he was hospitalized in 2025 due to a fractured ankle. Despite these challenges, Kaleb remains dedicated to his farming career and family. As a father of three, he has expressed hope that his children may one day join the farming business but insists he won’t pressure them into it. “If you wake up and go, ‘I’ve got to go to work today,’ I think you’re firmly in the wrong job,” he reflected. “I wake up and go, ‘What am I doing today?’ So, therefore I know I’m in the right job.”
