The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has announced changes to the payment schedule for millions of benefit recipients over the 2025/2026 Christmas and New Year period. Since payments are not processed on bank holidays, those scheduled to receive funds on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, or New Year’s Day will see their payments issued in advance.
This adjustment ensures that households dependent on DWP benefits maintain uninterrupted access to their finances during the festive season. Claimants are advised to plan accordingly, as their usual payment dates will shift to accommodate the holiday calendar.
