This December 3, the University of Birmingham invites families and visitors to celebrate the festive season with “Christmas on Campus: 125 Edition,” a vibrant event marking its 125th anniversary. From 11am to 8pm on the Edgbaston campus, guests can dive into a day packed with holiday cheer and engaging activities for all ages.
Explore an artisan market brimming with local craftspeople offering freshly baked goods, homemade treats, and unique handmade items. Simultaneously, the Christmas craft fair showcases the talents of students, alumni, and staff, featuring beautiful ceramics, artwork, jewelry, and more.
The event also promises live music and entertainment, a funfair carousel, fairground games, face painting, and classic Christmas movie screenings. The beloved University Carol Service will add a traditional touch to the celebrations.

A highlight of the day is the innovative light show projected onto the iconic Edwardian buildings near Old Joe Clocktower in Chancellor’s Court, with performances scheduled at 4:15pm, 5pm, and 8pm. This captivating display narrates the inspiring stories of the University’s thinkers, dreamers, and innovators throughout its history.
Professor Adam Tickell, Vice-Chancellor and Principal of the University, expressed enthusiasm, saying, “We look forward to welcoming visitors from across the city for what promises to be a stunning experience.
