Cheapest Places to Buy a House in Birmingham: Prices Drop Even Further

House prices in some of Birmingham’s most affordable neighborhoods have dropped even lower, presenting potential bargains for homebuyers willing to explore these areas.

Among the cheapest districts are Lozells and Winson Green, where property values have declined over the past year. In Lozells, the typical home price has fallen from £190,000 at the end of 2024 to £176,000 today. Similarly, Winson Green has seen prices dip from £187,000 to £176,000. Both figures remain significantly below the UK average house price, which sits around £300,000.

The B6 postcode area in Aston offers the lowest prices in the city, with typical houses costing approximately £168,000. These reductions may reflect factors such as higher crime rates, smaller property sizes, or homes in need of renovation, yet they still indicate opportunities for buyers seeking value.

On the other end of the spectrum, the most expensive Birmingham neighborhoods command prices nearly three times higher. Upscale areas like Four Oaks and Sutton Coldfield boast average home prices around £478,000, while the leafy suburb of Edgbaston averages about £397,000.

While house prices increased in most parts of Birmingham throughout the last year, only a handful of neighborhoods witnessed a decrease, including Lozells, Winson Green, Edgbaston, Balsall Heath, Bournville, Acocks Green, and Boldmere.
