Celebrity Traitors' Alan Carr Flees UK Ahead of Finale After Becoming ‘Most Hated Man’

Alan Carr has left the UK and flown to Orlando, Florida, just before the finale of The Celebrity Traitors, openly admitting he feels like “the most hated man in the UK.” The 49-year-old comedian sparked outrage by ruthlessly eliminating beloved actress Celia Imrie during the show’s recent episode, cementing his reputation as the ultimate traitor among fans.

Speaking while at Universal Studios with his nephew and niece, Alan shared candidly, “That’s why I’m in America. Everyone hates me. I’ve had to come here to get away from it all. My Christmas card list is getting smaller and smaller.”

Despite the backlash, Alan remains unapologetic about his actions on the show. He expressed disbelief that his fellow celebrities failed to pick up on his obvious strategy to eliminate others, joking, “Are they thick? I’m giggling when people are murdered. When they don’t come down for breakfast, I just stick cheese in my mouth.”

His daily “murders” have admittedly become stressful but also strangely addictive. “I’m getting a taste for it,” he confessed.

Fellow competitor Cat Burns, 25, described the intense media attention as “a bit mad” and revealed she is managing the pressure by mostly staying at home.

Meanwhile, recently eliminated contestant Kate Garraway expressed confidence in Alan’s chances of winning. The Good Morning Britain presenter praised his tactics, especially his habit of breaking into laughter during challenging loyalty tasks. She explained that despite obvious tells from other players, Alan’s nervousness and guilty expressions often masked his true intentions, making him unpredictable and hard to read.

Garraway summed it up: “The more he mucks up and sweats, the more it just plays into ‘Alan’s just being Alan.’ And I think that’s going to be the genius.”

The dramatic finale of The Celebrity Traitors will air Thursday at 9pm on BBC One.
