Brian Guest, aged 67, already serving a prison sentence for a series of sex offences, has been convicted of an additional child sex assault but will not receive any extra time behind bars.
Guest was initially sentenced to 22 years at Stafford Crown Court in January 2024, after being found guilty of numerous offences spanning from 1980 to 2018. These included two counts of rape of a female aged 16 or over, three counts of indecent assault on a female under 14, five counts of sexual assault on a female under 13, and one count of rape of a child under 13.
In August, Guest appeared again before the court after it emerged that he had sexually assaulted another victim during her school years between 1998 and 2000. The victim, now an adult, disclosed the abuse to her sister and subsequently reported it to the police in 2022, leading to Guest’s arrest.

Despite being convicted of this latest indecent assault at Wolverhampton Crown Court, Judge Talog Davies ruled that the new offence, which pre-dated some of Guest’s previously sentenced crimes, should be served concurrently with his existing sentence. Consequently, Guest’s overall sentence remains unchanged at 22 years.
During sentencing, the victim provided a statement detailing the long-lasting impact of the abuse on her mental health. She described having difficulties coping throughout her teenage years, often resulting in conflict with her parents. She expressed fear of encountering Guest if he is released and shared how the abuse has led to a pervasive distrust of others. Additionally, she revealed that she seldom leaves her home without the companionship of her partner.
Guest, who appeared via video link from HMP Birmingham, is serving his sentence in a wing designated for vulnerable inmates. Defence counsel Dean Easthope described Guest as a “model prisoner” who suffers from several health issues including diabetes, high cholesterol, and has undergone a triple heart bypass. He has previous employment experience as a removal worker travelling across Europe, a forklift driver, and a warehouse operative.
Brian Guest’s criminal convictions now total four convictions relating to 15 offences.
