Birmingham’s Top Violent Crime Hotspots Revealed: See Where Your Area Ranks

Recent crime statistics from West Midlands Police have highlighted the areas in Birmingham with the most concerning records for violence and sexual offences between October 2024 and September 2025. The data reveals that violent incidents remain a significant issue, with some hotspots witnessing alarming numbers.

Unsurprisingly, Birmingham city centre topped the list, with the highest number of reported violent and sexual offences: a staggering 4,694 incidents, averaging 12 reported crimes daily. This central area, known for its heavy foot traffic, has endured a number of high-profile violent events recently, including multiple stabbings. Notably, the tragic killing of Katie Fox on Smallbrook Queensway in November marked one of the most severe incidents. Several teenagers were also hospitalized following knife attacks near the Bullring in separate incidents last October and November.

Following the city centre, Lozells and East Handsworth registered the second-highest rate of violent crime, reporting 2,314 offences in the past year. The community was deeply shaken in November when a stabbing victim in his 20s was fatally attacked on Hutton Road, prompting a murder investigation.

Aston is the only other Birmingham area recording over 2,000 violent crime incidents, with 2,284 reported cases. The area also experienced a serious stabbing in November at Aston University, where a teenager suffered life-changing injuries after being attacked following a social football match in the Aston Triangle area.

On the other end of the spectrum, smaller locales such as the NEC and Birmingham Airport saw the fewest violent offences, with 118 and 87 incidents respectively.
