Birmingham’s Quietest Streets: Where Residents Enjoy Peaceful, Safe Nights

Birmingham’s most tranquil neighbourhoods, where residents rarely experience crime or antisocial behaviour (ASB), have been identified. These peaceful streets offer a stark contrast to other parts of the city where nuisance and disorder are more common.

According to the latest police crime data, some of the lowest rates of ASB are found in leafy Sutton Four Oaks, a serene area just off the main Walsall and Lichfield Roads and close to the expansive Sutton Park. Here, residents enjoy quiet nights with minimal disruption, reflecting a strong sense of community safety.

In the year leading up to February, only 46 ASB incidents were reported in Sutton Four Oaks—a figure that averages to fewer than one incident per week. Nearby Sutton New Hall also enjoys relative calm, with just 75 reports over the same period. These areas benefit from Sutton Coldfield’s reputation as one of Birmingham’s most affluent and desirable suburbs.

Other Birmingham neighbourhoods with notably low ASB include Hall Green, Oscott, and Nechells, further highlighting pockets of safety within the city.

In sharp contrast, the districts facing the most challenges with antisocial behaviour are Aston, Small Heath, and Highgate, each recording approximately 319 incidents over the last year—close to one reported offence daily. Longbridge follows closely behind with 316 reported cases.

For residents in Birmingham, these statistics offer insight into where peaceful, safe living is most commonly found, as well as areas where community safety initiatives may be most needed.
