JK Foods 24-7 Ltd, a Birmingham-based food retailer, along with its director Jamil Zamankhail, has been fined a total of £16,000 after pleading guilty to six charges related to food safety violations. The charges stemmed from two separate mouse infestations discovered within a span of weeks.
At a hearing held on Thursday, July 2, both the company and its director admitted to breaching The Food Safety and Hygiene (England) Regulations 2013. Inspectors found evidence of poor pest control measures which led to contamination risks in the store, posing serious health hazards to consumers.
