Birmingham Prison Christmas Eve Dinner 2025 Revealed

Christmas Eve is fast approaching, and while many Brummies are busy preparing festive celebrations at home, around 1,450 men at HMP Birmingham in Winson Green are awaiting their meal options for the day.

Thanks to a Freedom of Information request submitted to the Ministry of Justice, BirminghamLive has uncovered the exact menu served to prisoners on December 24, as well as the special Christmas Day offerings.

On Christmas Eve, there is no unique festive menu; instead, prisoners are offered the regular range of meal choices available daily. For lunchtime, they can select from five different options, including vegetarian, halal, and meat dishes designed to accommodate diverse dietary needs.

Later that evening, the dinner menu also features a variety of options, ensuring that all dietary preferences are met. To round off the meal, prisoners can enjoy a sweet treat, choosing between fresh fruit or a chocolate muffin.

While the Christmas Eve menu maintains the everyday format, Christmas Day brings a special festive menu complete with traditional favourites such as turkey and all the trimmings. Additionally, prisoners can select from four alternative meal options on the big day.

This approach balances consistency with celebration, ensuring prisoners have familiar choices while also marking the festive occasion with a special Christmas meal.
