A Birmingham man, Jordan Gayle, 45, has been sentenced after admitting to assaulting his girlfriend during a dispute over breakfast. The incident occurred at his Acocks Green home on October 21, 2025, where Gayle punched his partner in the face during the argument.
When the victim attempted to leave, Gayle grabbed her, causing a scratch as he tried to stop her from leaving the house. The victim initially withdrew her statement to the police but later provided a detailed account of the assault.
Appearing at Birmingham Magistrates' Court on July 17, Gayle pleaded guilty to assault by beating. Prosecutor Shajah Javed outlined the circumstances of the attack, emphasizing the argument stemmed from Gayle not getting breakfast.

Defending solicitor Alum Zeb acknowledged the assault, highlighting that the couple had been together for a long time and describing the injuries as minor and the attack brief rather than sustained. Zeb also noted that Gayle had not offended in the past 12 years, despite having a previous record.
Magistrate Michael Ward sentenced Gayle to a 24-month community order and imposed court costs of £314, reduced due to Gayle’s Universal Credit status. Ward acknowledged Gayle’s guilty plea and the financial adjustment to the court costs accordingly.
