At its latest Ofsted inspection in April 2024, King Edward VI Handsworth was rated outstanding for quality of education and personal development, and good in other areas. Inspectors praised the school’s nurturing atmosphere and the emphasis on core values such as aspiration, respect, and endeavour.
According to Ofsted, “Caring and supportive relationships are at the heart of the school. Pupils feel safe and report that poor behaviour is rare. One parent described it as a ‘Brilliant school’ with a ‘Great nurturing environment.’”
The report also highlighted the school’s ambitious curriculum designed to meet the needs of all students, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), as well as sixth-form pupils.
