Noted Fieldwork, a food testing company based in Birmingham, has been awarded Best Viewing/Research Testing Facility at the Market Research Society’s Operations Awards held in London last month. The company’s newest centre opened on King’s Street in Kings Heath on September 17.
The facility includes a fully equipped kitchen, temperature-controlled storage, and dedicated testing rooms where local residents can sample and assess a variety of food and drink products, ranging from new ready meals to coffee. These products are often assessed months before becoming available in supermarkets.
On busy days, the centre welcomes up to 120 visitors. Noted Fieldwork has built a national community of over 25,000 testers and is actively recruiting participants from across Birmingham to join its panel.

Steve Lawrence, Operations Director at Noted Fieldwork, said the award recognises the dedication of the entire team who manage recruitment, hosting, and session operations over many years. He added that the response from the Kings Heath community has been very positive, with passers-by showing interest and joining to provide honest feedback on food and drink products. Lawrence emphasised that having broad representation from Birmingham enhances the quality of feedback delivered to the industry.
Anyone aged 18 or over living in or near Birmingham is encouraged to join the Noted Fieldwork community. Testing sessions take place throughout the week at the Kings Heath centre, usually lasting under an hour, with participants receiving rewards for their time and opinions.
