Birmingham City Council Secures Over £150,000 from Swift Land Sales

Birmingham City Council has successfully raised over £150,000 through the rapid auction of land parcels in Sutton Coldfield, Sheldon, and Alum Rock.

The recent sales, conducted by Bond Wolfe auctioneers, brought in a total of £153,500, providing a timely financial boost for the council last week.

Highlights of the auction include:

  • An irregular plot accessed between 65 and 67 Four Oaks Common Road sold for £50,000, matching its reserve price. The freehold vacant land covers approximately 692 sq.m. (7,448 sq.ft.) and is suitable for various uses, subject to necessary consents.

  • A parcel between 49 and 51 Hazeldene Road, located in a predominantly residential neighborhood, fetched £73,000, surpassing its £50,000 reserve. This freehold site measures around 580 sq.m. (6,243 sq.ft.) and will be delivered with vacant possession.

  • A former allotment garden near No. 94 Fernbank Road and behind 19-15 Tranter Road sold for £30,500, exceeding the £25,000 reserve. This freehold site covers roughly 692 sq.m. (7,448 sq.ft.) and is offered with vacant possession.

Two other parcels—land adjacent to 30 Howard Road East, Kings Heath, and land behind 325 Soho Road, Handsworth—were withdrawn from this auction but may feature in future sales.

Birmingham City Council and Bond Wolfe auctioneers are preparing for their next auction, scheduled to begin at 8:30 am on Thursday, July 9.
