Reloved Brum, a well-known charity shop in Harborne, Birmingham, recognised as one of the best in Britain, has recently enhanced its appeal by introducing a brand new cafe.
Situated on Harborne High Street, known for its exceptional charity shopping scene, Reloved Brum occupies two floors and boasts a modern layout with a trendy design. It has gained a reputation not only for its style but also for the impressive bargains it occasionally offers. Nearby, local favourites such as the Acorns megastore and the Oxfam bookshop, famed for discovering a copy of “The Hobbit” valued at £38,400, complement the vibrant shopping area.
Since opening in 2023, Reloved Brum featured a cafe on its mezzanine level; however, this space was recently repurposed to accommodate additional clothing rails showcasing more bargains. Following a thorough search for an ideal operator, a new cafe, Mello, has now established itself in this prime location.

The cafe overlooks the shop floor below, sharing the upper level with a small library of books available for purchase and a dedicated area for record collectors to browse.
Mello is co-owned by Bhav Chamdal and Josh Thomas, who focus on serving quality coffee and locally sourced food. The menu includes breakfast sandwiches starting at £5.50, “egg on toast” prepared to personal preference for £7, and jacket potatoes. There are also toasted sandwiches such as Buffalo chicken with cheddar and relish, and ham and cheese, alongside cold sandwiches including Caesar chicken, tuna mayo, ham with hummus and red pepper. A children’s menu is also available.
The drink selection features a range of teas and coffees, as well as popular beverages like matcha and strawberry lemonade tea. Prices for all drinks are under £5, with most items costing less than £4. Complementing the beverages, there is a variety of sweet treats, including pastries.
Mello officially opened on Tuesday, 8 September, offering £2 coffees on the first day, with all proceeds donated directly to the charity.
Visitors can find Mello at Reloved Brum, located at 48-50 High Street, Harborne, Birmingham, B17 9NE.
