Birmingham Airport Suspends Runway Operations Amid Storm Goretti Snowfall

Birmingham Airport has suspended all runway operations due to heavy snowfall caused by Storm Goretti. The storm has triggered widespread travel chaos across the Midlands on the evening of Thursday, January 8.

Road conditions have become hazardous, leading to bus route diversions and reduced train services throughout the region. Now, air travel has also been impacted, with all flights to and from Birmingham Airport temporarily halted.

An official notice on the airport’s website stated: “Due to heavy snow, runway operations are currently suspended. We will continue to update our website with the latest information as the situation evolves. Passengers scheduled to travel from Birmingham Airport are advised to contact their airlines for current flight updates.”
