Birmingham Airport is set to enhance the travel experience for passengers with reduced mobility and hidden disabilities through a £3.8 million investment in its assisted travel services. The funding will enable the purchase of 12 new ambulifts, significantly reducing waiting times and ensuring a smoother, more efficient journey for travelers who require assistance.
In addition to new equipment, airport staff will undergo specialized accessibility training, equipping them to better support neurodivergent passengers and those with specific needs. These improvements reflect Birmingham Airport’s commitment to inclusivity and creating a welcoming environment for all passengers.
