‘Bigfoot’ Sighting at Cannock Chase Sparks New Interest as Dad Describes Creature Moving Swiftly Through Woodland

A Shifnal father-of-three has reignited local excitement over the legend of a British Bigfoot after an astonishing encounter on New Year’s Day. While walking with his partner through the misty woodland of Cannock Chase, the 60-year-old spotted a large, upright creature moving at an impressive speed.

Describing the figure as “broad” and between 7 to 10 feet tall with flowing light and dark fur, the man recalled how it suddenly appeared beside him near Castle Ring Hill Fort. “It moved so fast, probably around 15 miles per hour, and vanished just as quickly,” he said. “There was no sound or trace, but I clearly saw this unusual figure.”

Despite the eerie encounter, the man said it did not frighten him; rather, it left a strangely calm feeling. His partner, who was walking about 20 yards ahead, and their dog, walking between them, noticed nothing unusual.

Initially skeptical and wondering if it was a trick of the light, he later researched local reports and found that mysterious creature sightings here are nothing new. Rumours of a yeti-like beast roaming Cannock Chase have circulated since the 1800s. More recently, in 2021, Bigfoot investigator Lee Brickley discovered enormous 41cm claw marks in the forest—nearly twice the size of a man’s shoe.

While the man chose to remain anonymous, his story has added fresh fuel to ongoing fascination with the ‘Cannock Chase Bigfoot.’ Brickley, who has extensively explored the area, described previous footprint discoveries as “astonishing” and insisted the legend was far more than mere myth.

With eyewitness reports spanning centuries and physical evidence unearthed, the mystery surrounding this elusive woodland figure continues to captivate and provoke curiosity among locals and enthusiasts alike.
